She crouches down and looks into the face of the life that is gone.

Where Has the Winter Gone?Where has the winter gone?
The days so cold,
But we never felt it

Where have our promises gone?
Words whispered
Between lips only atoms away

Where have our memories gone?
Things once cherished
Tossed away, fighting to find their way home

Yes I know, the winter's gone
But it's okay,
Our souls meet in our dreams

Stars in the nightThe sun is just a star,
Like the others we can see from afar.
The sun is a source of life and light,
So why not the other stars we see at night?

Countless other worlds could exist.
They might be similar to ours but with a twist.
So maybe when we look up at the sky,
There might be someone looking back from up high.

There's more to this universe than we know,
But we are uncovering it's secrets, even if it's going slow.

Better Than I Know MyselfI take a look in the mirror,
And I see this person.
She's me, the real me.

Pressing my hand against the glass,
It feels like she's actually real.
Like I could reach in,
And take her hand.

She knows my secret, my fears, my dreams,
She knows what I have been through,
Because she's been there too.

She's strong, and confident,
Everything I hide on this side.
She's the only person, who knows me,
Better than I know myself.

She's fallen, rose above,
She's been scared, loved, sad,
And so much more.

She lets me see who I have become,
And she knows that scars that I have carried.

Shutting it all out sounds nice to me,

Some days I'm just an empty husk,
The emptiness blocks out everything,
My insides have been poured out,
It's just another method of coping,
There are days I hate who I am,
Too bad I actually give a damn.

I'm capable of thinking logically,
But my heart overrules my mind,
Though my mind can see things clearly,
The course of action is clearly defined,

Even if that influences my health.

And the fluffy stuffed animals that covered my bedroom floor.

Where I tossed small pieces of bread into the water for the birds to eat.
I'm from the young, soft tabby cat
That once sat in my warm lap.

I am from the artistic hands,
That were passed down to me from my Great Grandpa Frank.
I'm from the completed books that I tossed in my opposite direction.
I am from the woody, aging trees
Whose branches I used to hang on.
